Electric Ferry Evolution
Pragmatic, get-on-with innovation' have designed a fully electric E-Ferry, which will run between Plymouth and South
East Cornwall. The Cremyll Ferry will last for 12 hours on a single charge, while a brand new 150 capacity ferry is under design and will last 14 hours. The boatyard itself is also transitioning, once a traditional hub, it is to become a specialist hub for electric commercial vessel development. Nationally, the Government's Clean Maritime Plan is to have zero carbon vessels in all UK waters by 2025 - this sort of green evolution is essential when it comes to tackling climate change, as many of our goods and services are transported by ferry to all corners of the world. With more sustainable transport available for long periods of travel, the better we will get at reducing our carbon emissions and healing our planet.
